Worship

On that ay his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. The the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him. On that day there will be no light, no cold or frost. It will be a unique day, without daytime or nighttime-a day known to the Lord. When evening comes, there will be light. 

The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name.

In the past (and if I'm being honest,  I'm sure in the future, too) these verses have made me nervous. I think it is the unknown that scares me. I don't do well with the unknown. I like to have a plan. And a plan behind that plan. 

But, what I tend to forget is that God has a plan, too. One that will ultimately be the plan of all plans. And then I start getting excited thinking about seeing all of that. Being able to fall to my knees and worship the one who created me. 

I look at everything around me and am constantly amazed by what I see. His beauty knows no limit and to think that this world is still so beautiful after years and years of humans trying (and sometimes succeeding) to destroy it. 

That just makes me wonder just how significantly more awesome heaven is going to be. And, once again, I get excited. 

But, you know where I fail? 

Being excited to worship the Lord face to face is great. I know He wants me to want that. But he also wants me to worship Him now. I want to be like King David dancing the streets, praising His name. Not caring if people are looking at me like I'm crazy or worried if I am portraying too much emotion. I want to praise Him now when it isn't the easiest thing to do. 

Because how can I see his glory during these times if I'm not looking for it? And I know that is not something I ever want to miss. 

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. 

Worship the Lord with gladness;

come before him with joyful songs.

Know that the Lord is God.

It is he who made us, and we are his;

we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving

and his courts with praise;

give thanks to him and praise his name. 

For the Lord is good and his love endures

forever;

his faithfulness continues through all generations.
