Letting go

I have talked a few times about being present in the moment and letting go of all the stuff around me. The thing I struggle with the most is letting go of a messy house. I am SO bad about putting Connor's request to play off until I finish whatever cleaning project is screaming at me the loudest. I try to tell myself that it is because we are in a small space and that it will be better one day when we are in a bigger house.

picking up sticks and putting them in his "wheelbellow"

But you know what? That day might come, but what if it's when all the little matchbox cars are long gone? All of his "Poy Stowy fwends (toy story friends)" are all packed away, because by then he might be too old for little toys and playing with mommy. So, after a last minute photo shoot outside last week I decided to throw my over anal caution to the wind and bundle up and play.

Cade was napping, so it was some good one on one time. He has been saying a lot of "I fank Cade is going to stay with {insert different grandmother's names} today", so I know he was needing it.  There was a lot of picking up sticks, a lot of tackling and a LOT of laughing. I think it goes without saying that I didn't think about the huge mess in the house that was waiting on me.

All I could think about was how I will enjoy seeing this sweet boy and his huge smile running to me for a hug every.single.time and pray that it's not his last.

I will look back on days like this and remember what it was like to play with him and talk to him and make him laugh. And I want more than anything for him to remember these kind of days, too.

Kelli, I so struggle with the same thing! I feel almost anxious and grumpy inside unless I have a clean picked-up house. Good for you for letting it go and heading outside! I need to do more of that.

Sweet boy! I'm so guilty of this as well and my same over anal self needs to chill out too! I'm glad you had such a great time with your big boy:)

I have a qualification in creative writing from the top university, but nevertheless have no significant credits
yet. How must i begin getting published in
a reputable magazine or website for the first time?
Is self-publishing ideal? We have short stories that
are done, but I am not sure where to send them. I realize I want a real estate agent, but getting one without
ever being published just isn't likely to happen. Any suggestions?.

I struggle with this too, you will cherish this afternoon of playing much longer than the clean house you would have had!
