One Year!

Connor, you are 12 months old! That is ONE WHOLE YEAR, little man! This past year has been, without a doubt, the best year of my life. I never in my wildest dreams imagined how much I would love you so unconditionally and how much I would love bearing the title of "Connor's Momma". Every day brings something new and I can honestly say I go to bed every single night looking forward to the next morning. (Heck, I even look forward to waking you up again after I put you down for your naps!). I have so loved being here to watch you grow and sometimes I find myself closing my eyes really hard after a big moment, hoping to burn it into my brain forever. So, today, I am going to celebrate each month with a picture I love.

This is from the day you were born. Oh, I can't tell you how much I love this picture! I realize I am EXTREMELY biased, but you were such a pretty baby! You had a veeeeeerrrrryyyyy long day by the time this picture was taken and you were exhausted! I love how perfectly you fit on your Daddy's chest. I love just how right it looks even though I had never seen your Daddy hold a baby. He was meant to love you and be your Daddy.

Oh, this next picture (taken at 1 1/2 weeks old) just makes my heart smile. You loved to nurse. Oh, how you loved it. You would relax soooo much that you would be OUT by the time we were done. If there was ever a poster child for the milk coma, you were it. When I would burp you, you would arch your back, pull your hands up under your neck and just streeeeetch. And make the funniest faces while you were doing it. Your burp faces made us laugh everytime.

At 1 month old you loved to lay on your play gym and just kick those little legs like you had somewhere to go. You were SO attentive for such a little fella. This was one of my favorite pictures because it showed off those beautiful blue eyes!

At 2 months old you really started to zone in on your toys and dude. You had some serious things to tell them! I knew when your nose was flared with your mouth in a little bitty "o" that you meant business!

At 3 months old, we did your first craft project! One of the things I was looking forward to the most when I found out I was going to be a mom was crafts! I am now a proud subscriber to Family Fun, so I see many more crafts in our future :)

At 4 months old, we started reading the bible together in the mornings and you would always put your hand on mine. Gosh, it was the sweetest thing in the world! What a wonderful way to worship the Lord!

At 5 months old, we found your love for water! We put you out in this pool at your Gammie's house and you just splashed your little heart away. I will never forget your happiness that day.

At 6 months old, you started going to Sunday school. When I walked in to see you sitting in that little table, I thought my heart was going to burst! I cannot wait to talk have conversations with you about Jesus!

At 7 months old, we went on our first camping trip! I thought we were a little crazy for doing it, but it actually turned out to be a wonderful weekend. It was so nice to be away and have no distractions but each other. Your favorite thing to do, by far, was to lie on the bed and yell at everything through the screened window. I sure did love those sounds... let's just hope the fellow campers did as well!

At 8 months old we got to start celebrating Christmas with you. This picture captures perfectly your joy for life! You are always smiling and so happy!

At 9 months old you started making the cutest face. You would look at us and blink really hard, which meant you wanted us to blink back at you. What started at blinking, ended up being a huge grin with your eyes shut. We loved to see you do it and so did everyone around you!

At 10 months old you got to take your first trip to the park! I love this picture because it obviously shows how much fun you were having in the swings, but it also shows how much you love your Daddy!

At 11 months old, you hit the stage where you pretty much want my full attention a lot of the times. When you have it, you will hold onto me, or at least keep your hand on me, to make sure I'm not going anywhere. Little do you know, buddy, you've got me ;) I'm not going anywhere!

While I have struggled a little bit with the thought of you being 12 months old (sounds so much better than one year old, don't ya think?!), I so look forward to all of the upcoming days. I know you are going to change so much and I feel so blessed to be able to witness it. I thank God for making me your Momma! I love you the whole wide world little boy!!!
