24 weeks..16 to go!

Connor is making his presence known these days! I finally got asked by someone random when I was due. It made me SO happy! My last doctor's appointment went great. I was really hoping she would be able to feel around and see if he was still breech or not, but she said we wouldn't find out until week 36. That gives me 12 weeks to pray for God to give me peace about the possibility of a C Section. I don't know why I am so scared, as the other way for him to come out should scare me more! It's so funny to me that in high school and even college nothing scared me. Now the thought of having any type of surgery makes me nervous! I suppose that is part of growing up and realizing you aren't invincible! At my next appointment I have to take the dreaded gestatational diabetes test.. I don't know what I'll do if I have to give up sweets!
By this Friday Connor will be about the size of an eggplant! He will be about 9 inches long and 1.7 lbs. His skin is turning pinker due to small blood vessels, called capillaries, are forming under the skin and filling with blood. Later this week, blood vessels will also develop in his lungs, bringing him one step closer to full maturity- and one step closer to taking that first breath or fresh air. But those lungs are still very much works in progress. His lungs aren't the only system that's gearing up for air intake. His nostrils, which have been plugged up until now, are starting to open this week. This actually allows him to practice taking breaths!
I only have one step to take in completing the nursery, and that is the wall decor. I won't be getting those until after Christmas, so I'll have to put pictures up of my progress so far pretty soon.
Hope everyone had a great weekend! 4 days until Thanksgiving!!

Does anyone know why there aren't spaces showing up between my paragraphs? I am having to use those asteriks, and it is driving me crazy! Thanks!

That happens to me sometimes and it drives me nuts! As for the diabetes test, it isn't as bad as everyone says so dont fret. And I completely understand your fear on the c-section thing...i was the same exact way. I was terrified of surgery when you would think i would be more afraid of the other option hah! but everything will work out just fine!! hope you have a great week and thanksgiving! cant wait to see pics of the nursery too!
