A date with our big boy

Last weekend we spent the weekend at Gammie's house. We always try to take advantage of having a babysitter, and this time was no different. We had two plans. Take our big boy on a date with mommy and daddy and then mommy and daddy go on a date! When we told Connor that we were going to take him with us and leave Cade with Gammie, he asked if Cade could come, too. Sweet boy loves his baby brother! I had been wanting to take Connor to a baseball game, so that is what we had planned for Saturday night. The weather had other plans, though, and it rained all day long! We went as far to drive to the ball field, but once we got there decided to try something different. We just decided to head to Cool Springs and figure out what to do once we got there. I climbed in the back to sit with Connor and help him eat his pizza (read: make sure he didn't get it all over his white shirt!) It was funny to me that it has only been 3 months that our sweet Cade has been here and it already felt weird not to have him in the car with us! Once we got pretty close to Cool Springs, I decided to go to Gigi's Cupcakes to get a little treat. He isn't a huge sweet eater, but brother loves him some cupcakes! By the time we got there, there wasn't much to choose from, but he chose Red Velvet Cake.

Afterwards, I figured it might be fun to try out Chuck E Cheese. I wasn't sure what to expect, but figured it was worth a try. He noticed the huge mouse as soon as we got in. He said, "Hi, big mouse" and waved, but did not want to go see him. In fact, when we played one of the games that was closest to the stage, he would look back every few minutes to make sure he wasn't getting any closer to him!

While he didn't want to go see the big mouse, he would ride in a car with him... after making sure he wasn't real :)

He thought it was the coolest thing ever to be riding with Bob the Builder.

Then with Barney! I loved his sweet hand on Barney's knee!

He loved playing the car games with us. In fact, we would follow him around letting him pick out the games and we would see him crawling into the chairs to drive :)

I was pretty impressed with how well he played at 2 and that he kept his attention span for each game!

With all that playing he got 42 tickets and got a spider to show for it. The rewards are RIDICULOUS! They wanted 20 tickets for one little package of Smarties. HA! He was very proud of that spider, so that is all that matters!

Of course, we ended up buying him a little foam soccer ball and one of the souvenir Chuck E cups. You know the one you can get !!!!!!LIFETIME FREE REFILLS IN!!!!!! Overall, it was a great way to let him run around, see his face light up and feel like a big kid. It was nice to get to focus on him and get all of our attention! He kept talking about the baseball game, though, so hopefully we'll be able to do that before the season ends!
