Arkansas trip

Last Thursday morning Connor and I hit the road to head to Arkansas for an extended weekend. Matt didn't get to go because he had a golf tournament to play in, so it was just the two of us. I dressed him in his preppy outfit for Uncle Lance, since I knew that is his favorite. Plus, he is the one who got Connor the shoes! I was a little skeptical of them when he told me about them, but I love them!

When did my little boy get so big?!

He did great on the way down there. I think I was more anxious to get out of the car than he was. As soon as we got there we headed out to see Ian take his tae-kwan-do testing. Connor had a great time watching and cracked us up trying to mimic them. He would even stand sideways and try to kick. Ian did great and went up in his belt color!

Connor was so excited to see his Uncle Lance! Doesn't the look on his face just scream admiration?!

When we got back to the house I had to put the crib together that mom had bought and in the meantime Connor fell asleep. I'm sure MiMi didn't mind!

I love my sweet, sweaty boy!

When I picked him up to put him in his crib, he woke up for a second to pat me on my back. He is such a little lover boy!

I had plans to leave Friday night and spend the night with Carrie. It was my first night away from him and I did great! I didn't get upset at all :) Now that doesn't mean that I didn't think of him almost every minute, though!

Mom had some dress up hats in her toy boxes and he wore them almost all weekend. Here he is as a fireman with his cousins Chloe and Aiden.

But quickly turned into a pilot :)

Saturday morning was the group of LR girls annual brunch. That was the main reason we made plans to come this weekend, so I was really excited! Aren't my friends just beautiful?!?!?! Beside me is Julie, Ashley, and Amanda. Carrie and Lana are sitting.

We had such a good time catching up. I miss these girls so much and am so blessed to have them in my life!

After church Sunday all of our family came over to eat lunch and hang out. Connor had a great time acting like a big kid!

Chloe is blurry because she was jumping like a little monkey, but I just love the way Connor is looking at her!

There is nothing in the world like children's laughter!

Then he had to run up and down the hall with his big cousin, Ian. He thought he was big stuff!

He asked for Kikki, Nean (Ian) and Chlo (Chloe) the rest of the night and the next morning when he woke up :) I love that he knows my family even though they are so far away!

Monday morning we had plans to meet up with Ashley and Addi for a little playdate. We decided to eat at Chick-Fil-A and let them play in the play area. I was all for that because I love me some CFA!

Eating lunch!

I'm sure they are wondering why in the world we are making them take pictures when they could be playing!

I tried to take a picture of Addi and she started to get upset, until mom came and posed with her. Ashley is the one who makes all of Connors adorable shirts for him! I've got some fall ones on the way that I am in LOVE with! Go to her Etsy shop and check out all of her cute stuff!

Addi's expression here just cracked me up!

After lunch we headed to Target to get a little shopping done.

It was really fun to meet someone that I had read about on a blog (Addi) and feel like I already knew her!

After that we killed some time before Connor and I headed to see Lana and her dogs. He did great with them and even tolerated their big kisses :)

He took to Lana so well. I know they would be BFF if we lived there!

We also got to go visit Carrie, Hunter and Ashley and, of course, I didn't have my camera. He wasn't as warm there because he was hungry. And he is just like most men.. gotta give him his food when he wants it ;) ! I so love to see my friends love on my baby. Warms my heart!!

We got home and MiMi had cooked his favorite.. spaghetti!

The hat says it all. He is a little bit of the boss at home, but at his granparent's house??? He is DEFINITELY the boss!!!

We had such a great time, but were SOOOOOO happy to get back to daddy. I didn't see him for 5 days and that is just about the max for me! I am so blessed that he has a job that keeps him at home. I definitely don't take it for granted!
