Connor "pat patting" Granny. As you can see, she had some balloons in her room, so he was pretty busy with those :)
I thought she might like to see his family book since she was in it. I think she was so surprised to see the page about her. It was so cute and I'm glad she got to see it.Connor sat in her lap for about 2 seconds and the first thing she said was "He's so heavy!" I was also glad she got to hold him and glad he didn't hurt her! He can be so rough without even trying to.
After our visit with Granny, we headed over to Nana's house. Nana is Matt's grandmother and Connor's great-grandmother. She cooked a wonderful lunch and then we spent the rest of the afternoon outside playing. It was a beautiful day Saturday. It was a little warm in the sun, but if you sat in the shade, it was perfect. Gammie was worried to death about Connor being in the sunlight, which is actually nice for me. It gives me a little break in the worrying to let someone else do it! haha We didn't put any on his head in hopes that he would just keep his hat on, but of course he didn't. He would throw that thing off and just keep going like it was impairing his ability to get where he was going fast enough. We both noticed the next day that the top of his head looked a little tan, so maybe he won't have the problem of burning like me!
Matt and I were a little nervous about how Connor would act since he wasn't going to be taking an afternoon nap, but he did wonderful! Not only was he in a good mood, but he let everyone hold him and play with him. Usually when he is sleepy he will have no one but me, but thankfully he shared the love with everyone!
He let Ashley (cousin) read quite a few books to him. He loves to read!
Aunt Kim and Connor watching Ashley do cartwheels. He thought that was the funniest thing ever.
Aunt Angie giving him a drink of water. Spoiled much?!?!
Wesley (cousin) asked me to take this picture. This is a huge deal because it is usually like pulling a tooth to get Wesley to take a picture!!!
Ben and Kayla with Connor. Connor was fascinated with Ben and his hat! I took multiple pictures and this is the only one that he wasn't staring up at the hat!
Luke and Connor.
And finally, the host and hostess with the mostess. Nana and Papa.
We had such a great time and look forward to going back this summer to have a swim day! Matt's Aunt and Uncle both have pools, so we try to go and spend the whole day swimming at least once. Last year Connor was only 3 or 4 months old. He liked the water then, but I know this year he will really like it! We are so blessed with such a large, loving family!!!
