Connor's 2nd Easter part two!

We woke up bright and EARLY Sunday morning so that we could make it to the 7 am sunrise service... only to be 20 minutes late! They had moved it inside since it was drizzling, so I had mom go play with Connor while Matt and I slipped into the end of the service. He can't even make it through one church service, so I knew trying twice would be useless.

After the sunrise service, we had breakfast at the church. They had pancakes, eggs, fruit, biscuits & gravy, bacon and sausage. It was sooo good. Connor ate those eggs up! They had pepper in them, so he must have tasted the difference. Afterwards we headed to church where he was the most restless he has ever been. I didn't even get to hear the preacher because I was trying to get him to quit throwing his books across the aisles. Needless to say, he made his 1st trip to the nursery. I have a feeling he will be a frequent visitor from here on out. I will definitely try to keep him in the service every week, but I feel like I haven't heard the sermon in months!

After class we made a visit to the Easter Bunny! Last year, Connor was pretty bored with the whole thing. In fact, he yawned mid picture.

This year?

I think he disliked him more than Santa! You should have heard the scream that came out of him the second I put him in the bunnies lap. Then he went into the silent scream. Have y'all ever experienced the silent scream? It's the funniest & scariest thing ever! Funny, because its sooooo dramatic. Scary because they don't breathe!!!

Once he calmed down we headed out for a little photo shoot. You didn't think I'd skip out on a photo shoot, did you? I even had one last year when he couldn't do anything besides lay there and be all cute.

And this year, he was still cute, but definitely not just laying there! I did get some good posed looking photos, but due to the sun he couldn't really look at us very well.

It looks like he is crying in the photo above and the one below, but never fear. He is laughing. Hard.

We tried a family shot, but sunshine and pictures don't go together when Matt is involved. His eyes are ALWAYS closed! So, when we got to MawMaw and Draw's we tried again.

This time, Connor was done. Actually, he was over done.

Oh well. A picture is supposed to capture a memory, right? This memory is going to be the time he was tired and just wanted to play with the big red ball instead of taking a picture with his parents. :)

Our family last year.

Man how things change in a year!

The most important thing about Easter is the fact that HE IS RISEN!! I can't wait to share that with Connor and see him feel that excitement, too.

1On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6aHe is not here; he has risen!

Luke 24:1-6a
