A dreary but perfect day

It's was pretty nasty today. It rained all morning and was so dark that I needed all the lights on. It must have an effect on Connor because he has been super cuddly today, which is something that never happens! I have had one of those "I love my "job" " days. It's not that I have days that I don't like being a stay at home mom, it's just that some days are much harder than others.

When I went to rock him for his nap this morning he laid his little head down on my chest as soon as we sat down. And I melted. I love rocking him even more now since he won't ever sit still! He slept for an hour and when I went to wake him up, he popped up, smiled at me and laid his head back down. I picked him up and we went and cuddled on the couch for 5 minutes or so. And, once again, I melted.

During his afternoon nap I made some baby food. I wanted to try something new so I decided to do avocados. I knew it would probably be pretty nasty by itself, so I added bananas to it. It actually tasted pretty good! I also made some mango/banana which was really good as well. The mangos were so hard to cut! Is there some kind of appliance you are supposed to use to cut them that I don't know about? I probably wasted a lot of the "meat" but I was getting frustrated.

And suprisingly enough it was in this moment sitting on the floor, mashing up avocados and bananas with a fork that I was just struck with how much I love staying at home. I am so incredibly thankful to my husband for allowing me to do this. I don't take a day of it for granted!

After Connor woke up and ate his lunch, we went into his room to read a book. I let him crawl over to his book shelf and pick out the book (read: whichever one he happened to grab at first). After he pulled one out, I sat him in my lap on the floor and started reading it. About halfway through he leaned his little head back, put his left hand on my cheek and gave me a kiss. Gosh, I love this sweet boy! If dreary days bring cuddles and kisses all day long, then I want dreary days more often!

I will be a witness... dreary days definitely increase cuddliness! I love that...

look what I saw just like 5 days ago... actually in the Lebanon kroger! http://www.amazon.com/Oxo-3102400-Steel-Mango-Splitter/dp/B0017106I2

Wonder if it works? Cause I love mangos like none other!
