I joked in my blog post about making baby food that it was going to be in Pioneer Woman fashion. Well, I've done it again. I just can't help myself! I remember the first time I read one of her posts about cooking. It so inspired me and made me feel like I could cook like her too. I am NOT one of those people that can just throw some things together and make a meal. I have to have a recipe and I follow it pretty much to a "t". And if there are pictures involved? Well, it just makes me that much more happy! Without further ado, I present to you:
Annie B's Pumpkin Bread
taken out of the Home & Farm Magazine in 2009
First you will need a rather large bowl and the following ingredients. (And a manicure if you plan on photographing this event. I skipped that step, and for that my fingers apologize.)
Pour in 3 cups of sugar.
Next, is 4 eggs.
The key here is to stir after every ingredient. I have no idea why that is key, but that is what the recipe says.. and remember? I follow a recipe :)
Pour in 1 cup of oil. Stir.
After that, a 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Stir.
Now one of my favorites, 1/2 a teaspoon of cinnamon. Stir. (I put cinnamon in my homeade chocolate chip cookies the other day and they were delish.)
1 teaspoon of nutmeg. Stir.
2/3 cup of water. Stir.
1 15 oz can pure pumpkin. Stir.
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour. Stir.
2 teaspoons baking soda. Stir.
Finally 1 cup chocolate chips. This step is optional...just not for me :)
Pour into two greased and floured loaf pans.
Bake at 350* until toothpick center comes out clean, approximately 70 minutes.
NOW you can thoroughly enjoy fall!
*note: If you want to bake in a mini loaf pan, reduce cooking time to 45 minutes. This recipe will make 4 to 5 mini loaves.
Since I couldn't find the perfect nail polish and I still wanted the giveaway to be "fall oriented" I picked out something I look forward to using around this time every year and it is this:
Just a little something to make your house smell nice and fall-like. Fall scents are my favorite out of all of the seasons... just so warm and inviting! SOOOO, if you would like to embrace fall with me, leave me a comment letting me know! That's all you have to do :) I will leave it open until Sunday night at 5:00 pm. I will pick the winner (if more than 1 person enters.. haha!) Sunday night!

I've never been good at reading directions. Please also add me to the Wallflower pool!
So my big question is... Did you really crack the egg with one hand, haha! If so teach me!!! Everytime I've tried I get more egg on my hand and more shell in the batter. Creamy nutmeg is definitely the perfect fall scent, you can't go wrong with that one!
oh little connor you Will make it, i know it!! :) That pumpkin bread is making my mouth water!!! If i was a good wife i would say i will also make that for my husband but i wont lie i will be making it for me! KJ doesn't really like chocolate anyway ;) Creamy nutmeg sounds wonderful! :)
You have to try my iced pumpkin cookies...I have my entire family and several friends (chesley!) hooked on them. so yummy! I love the giveaway, but I won't be greedy since I already have one in that scent from last year. :-)
