Connor has started something new while I am rocking him to sleep. I still rock him with his cheek up against mine while I sing in his ear. About a week ago he started spitting out his paci, putting his hands on my cheeks and kissing me right on the lips. If I move my face to laugh, he will move it to where he can kiss my mouth again! It never fails to make me laugh. I called Matt in there last Saturday so that he could watch him. Matt just died laughing. He said, "He knows exactly what he is doing.. you should see the look on his face!" He will do it 3 or 4 times before he finally gives in and goes to sleep. I'm not surprised he learned to do this.. I smother him in kisses all day long. I just can't help myself!
We had a lot of errands to run Monday and I knew it would take us the majority of the day to get them done. I hate to think of him being in his carseat that whole time, so I brought the shopping cart cover so that he could just lay down in the seat.
I was cracking up because he barely fit! His little feet stuck out past the cart! I don't think he enjoyed it very much... he kept trying to sit up the entire time. I am so glad I have it, because I do think it will be nice once he is old enough to sit up.
We have had some really bad thunderstorms here lately. We even got MORE flooding in Wilson county. I just saw on the news that they had just opened up the Mt Juliet ball fields from the flood in May and they got flooded again this week. I got a little frustrated with the mainstream media (well really Good Morning America, since that is all I watch in the mornings) during the flood in May because I felt like it wasn't being covered at all. I realize we had the oil spill and a bomb attempt in NYC, but nothing was even mentioned about the flood. Well, apparently Robin Roberts agreed with me, because she was just on news 2 talking about how disappointed she was that it wasn't covered. She is here now on assignment, so I look forward to seeing what she does in the next couple of days.
Hopefully with all of these storms it will cool off for a few days and I can walk to my mailbox without feeling like I am going to have a heat stroke! Let's just say I am going to welcome Fall with open arms!
We are off to visit the fair again. I saw they have fried butter. I couldn't believe it! I blogged about it when I saw it on Oprah last summer. She had gotten it at the Texas State Fair. I just never dreamed we would have it at ours. We'll see if he really tries it. I'll let you know!
