Last family outing as a family of 3!

Matt and I decided in the middle of the week last week that we wanted to take Connor to the zoo. It had been almost a year since Matt had gone with him and Connor's love for animals has multiplied immensely since then! I love doing fun things when Matt gets to be there too and the zoo was the perfect little outing before our family of 3 becomes a family of 4!

I told him when he woke up what we were going to do, and he was so excited! He would not quit running around and talking about all he would see and it was the most willing he has ever gotten ready to go (besides church). The conversation did not stop in the car, so I got a quick video of how excited he was.
The conversation did not end there, either. I'm pretty sure he asked me if we were going to the zoo about every 2 minutes the entire way there. Made me realize that if we have a long drive we might not need to tell him where we are going! ha!

We got there about 10 minutes after it had opened and I'm glad we did, because it got pretty busy soon thereafter.

We weren't there long before he started telling us what he wanted to go see. I love the way he is saying giraffe right now.
He made sure that he told every single animal "bye bye" before we would move onto the next animal. He was very intent on seeing the turtles, too, which I guess he remembered seeing from last time. It always amazes me how well he is starting to remember things.

They have a little train that just basically goes in a circle twice, but that is the one thing I will always do. He loves it and it's just long enough to where he doesn't get bored.
It drives past zebras and horses, but once he saw the horses he was very concerned with why he didn't see any cows!
They have a new dinosaur exhibit, but after the traumatizing event with the Easter Bunny (which we are still talking about, by the way) I figured we wouldn't even attempt it.
We could not have asked for better weather. I never got hot (which doesn't happen often these days) and there was a nice breeze. Connor did so well, too. He never whined about being in the stroller or even asked to get out.

It was the perfect little outing before Cade gets here. I told Matt it was nice to be at the zoo where the majority of the other women are pregnant, too. Not the center of attention with that ginormous belly of mine where there are so many! Ha!

Staying true to almost all zoo trips, he was out not much longer after getting back on the interstate. Something about looking at all of those animals always wears him out!

What a great family outing! Connor is just too, too cute. I can't wait to take my boys to the zoo- we have never been! :)
