Two months old!

My sweet little boy is 2 months old! I can't believe it, really. He is starting to get a little personality, which I know is only going to come out more and more from here on out! We had his doctors appointment today and here were his stats:

Weight: 12 lbs 9.5 oz (90%)
Height: 23 in (60%)
Head circumfrence: 15 1/4 in (25%)

Love my big boy with his tiny little head!!! Sweet thing!

I'm not going to lie and say this past month has been a bed of roses. It's had a lot of tough moments. Moments were I had to come to terms with the fact that I, his mommy, could not soothe him enough to keep him from crying. Let me tell you. That is like a stab to the heart! There are SO many reasons I love breast feeding, but having that time with him has been balm to my soul. Once I realized that sometimes I wasn't going to be able to do anything, it was actually a huge lift off my shoulders. Every day seems to be getting better and it probably helps that he flashes huge smiles the whole time he is happy.

He is in the BEST mood right after eating. He loves to be talked to and is pretty rewarding when you do.
It hasn't been until the last few days that he has really enjoyed his play mat. Now he will talk to the toys on it and even laugh at them!
Chesley took a picture of Connor doing the exact same thing at his 3 month session. Love it!
He has definitely taken more notice of his hands. He chews on them a lot, so I'm interested to see where that leads. One day he had on a gown that had the cuffs that fold over to make mittens. He had his hand in front of his face and kept trying to get it in his mouth. He was going cross eyed trying to focus on it. It was like he was thinking, "I know there used to be a yummy hand there. Now where did it go?!"

I have been AWFUL at tummy time, but honestly he screams during it and as much as he has cried lately, I wasn't going to do anything to produce any more tears. He gets so mad during it that he will either roll over or he scoots across the floor. He is so strong and stiff when he is angry! With that said, I think he holds his head up pretty well when I am holding him.
So far, he has been a great little sleeper. He is only waking up once a night, and it is usually around 4 or 5 after a 10:30 feeding. He is also pretty good about being able to put himself to sleep. I can lay him down drowsy and he will go to sleep. That is one thing I have said about him being fussy. At least he is still sleeping!!!

He is still a very efficient eater. He nurses anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes and is done. I love that when he is nursing that he will do a pat like motion on my back with his hand. I remember Connor doing that :). He has started losing interest in his 7 am feeding due to his little snack in the middle of the night. I'm curious to see if I just left him be for a few minutes if he would go back to sleep without me going in there, but I'm afraid that it might just backfire on me and make him mad and wide awake! I dread trying to wean him off the middle of the night feeding, so we'll see if I even try this month. He seems a little small to be sleeping through the night! (note: I am NOT one of those that believes a 6 hr stretch is sleeping through the night. HA!)

Little man, I have loved seeing your little personality come out more this month. Your sweet smile lights up your entire face and it makes my heart soar every time I see it. It has made my heart ache for you to see you so sad sometimes, but I'm just thankful you won't be able to remember it! You and your brother are the light of my life and I am SO thankful to be your mommy. I love you the whole wide world and then some sweet boy!

Ok I tried to leave a comment a couple weeks ago but my phone erased it right as I hit send so....yeah. I just have to say that I am obsessed with your blog! I love reading about your boys, especially little Cade since I think he and Foster were born on the same day? April 17th? Also-not sure if you knew this but I went to high school with your hubby. I was in Kyle's grade. : )
